1979 International Scout Traveler. Finished in an attractive blue/grey metallic with a black hard top, GRC bumpers and SSII grille, this is a great looking truck inside and out. Although it maintains a classic Scout look, under the hood is a fuel-injected 5.3 liter Vortec V8 mated to a 4L60E automatic overdrive transmission and a NP241C transfer case. The modern drivetrain makes this one considerably nicer to drive than a stock unit. Paint and body present to a good standard and there is no evidence of rust or prior repair. 33x12.50 tires on 15 inch steel wheels (plus a moderate suspension lift) give this Scout just the right stance without sacrificing road manners. No-frills but tidy interior features Corbeau seats and a roll bar with three-point front seat belts (the rear seat presently has lap belts, but mounting points for shoulder belts are built in to the roll bar). Modern AM/FM/CD stereo with bluetooth, USB and aux input. Under the hood is a GM 5.3 liter Vortec V8 mated to a 4L60E automatic transmission. The modern fuel-injected engine starts easily, makes more power than an IH 304 or 345 and feels very well-suited to this application, especially combined with the overdrive transmission. Fitted with power steering and power brakes (front disk). Thanks to Bilstein shocks / steering stabilizer and new steering, brake and suspension components, this Scout runs and drives great.
