Description

The fuel-injected Chevrolet HO 350-cu.in. small-block V-8 crate engine is topped by a Magnuson supercharger with an air-to-water intercooler. The system has a FAST 78-mm throttle body. An Aeromotive Phantom 340 in-tank fuel pump in a new fuel tank supplies the gas. Hooker 1 7/8-inch headers are used with 4-inch side pipes. Stainless-steel braided lines are used throughout the engine compartment. The serpentine belt system is from Billet Specialties. Cold starts are a simple process of turning the key on the fuel-injected , the engine has approximately 10,000 miles on it. The Tremec five-speed manual transmission features a hydraulic clutch and gear ratios of 3.72, 1.98, 1.34, 1.00 and 0.68. The transmission shifts “perfectly,” but does exhibit a small weep. This Corvette was originally orange. He always wanted a white Corvette, so it was repainted in 2003 with the body left on the frame. One coat of red pearl and two coats of red pearl ghost flames followed three coats of white paint. A cowl induction hood was added to clear the supercharger. The paint now has a few hairline cracks on the rear bumper cover and the corner of the hood as shown in the photos. The windshield and weatherstripping were replaced when the car was painted. The original brown interior was changed to red leatherette during the restoration. The carpet and roof condition are both described as “perfect”. There is an in-dash CD player and both the air conditioning and heater work well. All the gauges work well except the factory clock. There are extra gauges in the rear of the cowl hood that face the driver. The suspension has been upgraded with a VBP max performance adjustable height system with fiberglass mono leaf springs, tubular control arms, Bilstein shocks, steel trailing arms, front and rear sway bars and polyurethane bushings. A Steeroids power rack-and-pinion setup with a custom Heidts control valve was also installed. The OEM Corvette brake calipers have stainless-steel sleeves and stainless hard lines. The brake rotors are drilled and slotted. The rear axle gear ratio is 3.70:1. The Cragar S/S wheels, sized 17 x 9 inches, wear Nitto Invo 255/50ZR17 tires, described as “nearly new.”
