This 914 is powered by a 1,971-cc air-cooled, horizontally opposed four-cylinder engine. With a compression ratio of 7.6:1, the engine received its fuel mixture via Bosch fuel injection and was rated by the manufacturer at 91 horsepower. The engine in this 914, and its five-speed manual transmission, are both said to be original to the car, with no rebuild histories other than routine maintenance.
