The 1800ES was powered in 1973 by Volvo’s B20B 1,987-cc OHV inline four-cylinder engine. With a compression ratio of 9.5:1 and Bosch electronic fuel injection, the engine was rated by the manufacturer at 112 horsepower. The engine in this Volvo is said to be original to the car, with no rebuild history. It’s said to start “perfectly, every time,” without smoke. No issues with the four-speed manual transmission, adding that the Laycock de Normanville overdrive, which was standard on these cars, is in “perfect working order.” Resurfacing the fuel tank, resurfacing the flywheel and replacing the clutch. The engine bay presents as stock and generally clean. The chrome appears to be in very good unrestored condition. The seat facings in this Volvo look to be in very good, undamaged condition, with no evidence of rips or soiling. The brakes are described as working “perfectly.” No issues with the manual steering are noted. The tires are said to date from 2007 with plenty of remaining tread.2
