There’s also a heavy-duty, single-wire alternator, a recent exhaust system, and dual electric fans for the cooling system. The engine is said to “start easily and run well,” with no reported smoke or leaks. it is also paired with a C6 three-speed automatic transmission that “performs well.” Ranchero was repainted in 2002 and the prep work included a small rust repair on the driver’s door. Twenty years later, the black finish — with silver GT-style stripes — has reportedly held up in “excellent” condition. Additionally, the bumpers were re-chromed and appear to be in very good condition. there are no issues with the glass and the seals have been replaced, but with the caveat that “with frameless door glass, sealing isn’t perfect when the doors are closed.” All of the exterior lighting is reported functional, installed an electric radio antenna. The seat was originally blue, and dyed it black. also replaced the carpet and headliner, and he describes them as remaining in “like-new” condition. The steering wheel also was replaced and it appears to be in very good condition. All of the trim is reported intact and, while the truck retains the original manual window cranks, the door locks are now power-operated and linked to a remote that’s part of a security system. The ammeter and clock aren’t working, but the rest of the gauges are. There’s also a “cold-blowing” air-conditioning system and an upgraded audio system that includes six speakers, a subwoofer, and amplifier. The driver’s door panel has a speaker cover for a later-Ford model. the chassis, suspension, and brakes are in good order, with no known issues or needs. The GT has power steering with no leaks, but a “little play” in the steering wheel is noted by the seller. The shocks, ball joints, and numerous bushings were replaced in 2001 and are said to remain in “very good” condition, and the front disc/rear drum brakes were reportedly redone a number of years ago and are said to remain in good shape. The front springs have been replaced. Rolling stock includes Magnum 500 wheels wrapped with Dunlop radial tires. All are said to be in “very good” condition, with “very good” tread depth remaining on the tires.
