This particular example underwent a complete restoration; every part was either stripped, reconditioned, repaired or replaced with many new-old stock (NOS) parts. This 2002 was also treated to some goodies from a BMW E21 such as the upgraded 5-speed transmission and factory Recaro front seats! This example is dressed in a stunning Nautical Blue Metallic, which is in overall excellent condition. The two-door?s bodywork is straight and solid and the engine bay is extremely tidy. The trunk?s cargo area is in good order and contains multiple components of the vehicle?s audio system. The car?s body-colored bumpers look great. This Bimmer rolls on General Altimax RT43 radials, size 195/60R14 at every corner. Each tire is mounted on a black, BBS-like, RS Honeycomb, three-piece alloy wheel. The wheels are in excellent order while the tires are in very good condition. This particular Ultimate Driving Machine has Bilstein shock absorbers, stiffer springs, thicker sway bars and rebuilt brakes at every corner. Under the forward-tilting hood is a rebuilt and upgraded 2.0L four-cylinder engine with boosted compression, a high-flowing header and a complete, stainless-steel Borla exhaust system to enhance the car?s sound and make more power. This well-known engine is married to a rebuilt five-speed manual transmission that came from a later, E21 car. The car has new hoses, belts and wiring and power brakes. Inside, the car has newly upholstered E21 factory Recaro in the front, done in black vinyl while the car?s instrument panel has been wrapped in supple leather but the horn is inoperable. The black carpet looks good and has custom Coco-mats for driver and front passenger. A white, contrasting headliner looks good. The inner door panels and dashboard are in great shape for their age, as are the center console and floor-mounted shifter. Within the center console are dual USB charger. Capping the interior is a professionally designed Kenwood audio system, featuring an Internet-connected touchscreen head unit. There are also Kenwood speakers, a JL amplifier and subwoofer as well as custom Koogleworks speaker pods. This system not only sounds great but offers modern conveniences like navigation, music streaming and Bluetooth capability.
