Absolutely outstanding Retromod 1971 Ford Mustang Convertible that has been totally rebuilt from top to bottom. Showing 65,500 miles on the odometer *with only 6000 miles on a fresh "rebuilt" 429 Cobra Jet motor, and a C6 Heavy Duty Automatic Transmission w/2200/2400 torque converter, and a 9" - 3.55 traction lock, limited slip differential. Extra horsepower over stock comes from a mild competition cam, new 750 Holley 4 barrel Carburetor, Holley Electric Fuel Pump, MSD Distributor & Coil, Ceramic coated/hooker heads, Flow Master Mufflers, Power Steering and Power Disc. (front) Brakes with Magnum 500's with new Cooper Cobra G/T 235/60R-14's, and items too numerous to mention since restoration. All white interior, bucket seats, center console with floor shifter, rally pack gauges in dash, new blue carpeting and pony mats on the inside. Dressed in the quintessential original color Pastel Blue with appropriate hockey strip. Hit the switch to drop the new white convertible top, complete with boot cover, and feel the wind in your hair. This is one of only 6,121 Convertibles out of a total production of 149,678, built that year. Ford made the decision to discontinue making the Mustang with a big block 429 CJ in the first half 1971. Of the Convertibles built that year - 32 were Big Blocks 429s, along with only 9 with 4 speed transmissions and 23 automatics. The 1971 are very unique cars unto themselves, and was the 1st. year for the 429 Cobra Jet to be installed in a Mustang, and it was also the last year the engine was available in the Mustang.
