Description

With its 4.2 litre, twin-carburetor, twin-cam, 6-cylinder engine with 9:1 compression and 4-speed, fully synchromesh manual transmission, the Series II E-Type is an excellent performing car and, of course, has an amazingly beautiful and timeless design. Our car was sold new in 1969 in San Jose, California to Thomas Faulkner, M.D. He babied the car and drove it fewer than 2,000 miles per year for 37 years before selling it in 2006 to a close friend, a woman then in her 70’s who lived in Gillette, New Jersey. Mileage at that time was 72,500. Nervous about anything happening to the car, she drove just 1,210 miles before selling the car to us in 2009. We then sold the car to a meticulous collector, who has had many transactions with us over the years, in Rockville Centre, New York. He also cherished the car and drove it an additional 1,055 years in his 6-years of ownership. We then sold the car to a Greenwich M.D.—also a multi-transaction Stable customer-- who has carefully driven the car in his 4 years of ownership and has kept fastidious records of maintenance during his ownership. The car was ordered new with an ideal combination of options—power steering, factory air conditioning, power disc brakes, tinted glass to all windows and a shaded windscreen, 15” chrome wire wheels and an AM-FM radio. It was also ordered in a beautiful and elegant color combination of Regency Red with black leather. When we delivered the car to its Rockville Centre owner, the original leather was showing some wear, so that owner had new and correct leather installed on both seats. He also had the engine compartment detailed and a new and very handsome AM-FM/CD stereo installed, saving the original AM-FM radio with the car. This car has been beautifully maintained for its entire life and is ready to be driven and/or shown to the delight of its next owner. It is accompanied by its original manuals and tools, original spare Dunlop “SP Sport” spare tire, a file of service records and its Heritage Certificate showing the car to be correct and as original in every detail.
