Description

V-8 engine is the numbers-matching original, and he says it starts, idles, and runs well, with no smoke and no leaks or drips. The previous owner had the cylinder heads removed a number of years ago and had them upgraded with hardened valve seats, for greater compatibility with unleaded fuel. The engine is paired with the reported stock Muncie four-speed manual transmission, which is said to shift well, on a clutch with a reported 600 miles on it. This Corvette reportedly wears a respray of the Can-Am White exterior color. The finish is in good condition, but shows a number of flaws, including some chips, cracks and visible orange peel, which is documented in the accompanying photos. Additionally, the seller notes some “rock damage” in the windshield, along with older glass and door seals. The top was replaced a number of years ago and the seller reports it has a 1985 date code. It is said to be in good condition and believed to be leak-free. The exterior trim appears in good condition and the exterior lighting is reported functional, but the factory fiber optics system, which monitors the lighting system, is inoperable. Inside, the blue leather interior appears to be in very good condition, with a number of restored elements, including seat covers and carpet that were replaced in 2014, but have only a few hundred miles on them since then. The seller adds that some of the cabin’s plastic trim components have been painted. All of the gauges are reported functional, along with the power windows, and the car has functional air conditioning provided by a Vintage Air aftermarket system. The seller says the car had factory air conditioning and the original components go with the sale. Also, the nonworking factory radio was replaced with a modern head unit, but the original radio goes with the car. all of the chassis and suspension components have been maintained in stock condition. There has been no recent suspension service, but there are also no known issues or needs. The brake system, however, has had recent service that included replacement of the power booster and master cylinder. Braking performance is said to be “very good” and is capable of locking the tires. The car rolls on factory Rally wheels wrapped with General Grabber tires. The wheels are said to have been recently painted and fitted with new trim rings, while the tires are reportedly “new,” with “maybe 50 miles” on them.
