The custom finish on this GTO, painted approximately 30 years ago with blue flames extending from the factory Endura nose, has held up very well and shows only a few minor scratches. The previous owner added a hood tach and a Judge rear spoiler during the build. only “very faint traces of rust on the edges of the body panels underneath,” adding the exterior glass is in “excellent” condition and there are no signs of leaks with the window seals. The lighting, including the vacuum-actuated headlamp doors, works normally, the vacuum hoses to those headlamp doors sometimes come loose from engine vibrations. This GTO’s time-machine experience gets really nostalgic inside, where the seats and even a section of the dashboard were re-trimmed with multicolor velour. With little driving and little comparative time in the sun during the previous owner’s 30-year stewardship, the condition of the custom upholstery has apparently held up very well, with virtually no visible wear and perhaps only minor fading. The carpet and headliner are also said by the seller to be in “excellent” condition, along with the door panels and customized dash pad. the car’s original engine was replaced long ago with another Pontiac 400-cu.in. V-8 and topped with a factory Tri-Power induction system. Reportedly, the engine was rebuilt in 1990 and has seen only about 500 miles since then.
