The Ford 302-cu.in. V-8 engine is correct for the year, but not numbers-matching. “It was rebuilt five years ago and only driven 600 miles since then.” A new air-cleaner assembly, 650-cfm Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, polished aluminum intake manifold, and ported cylinder heads with new stainless-steel stock-sized valves and heavy-duty valve-springs comprise the top end. A Comp Cams high-performance camshaft with hydraulic lifters was specified, and the bottom-end of the .030-inch over-bored 302-cu.in. engine features upsized cast-aluminum pistons, new stock-design connecting rods, the refurbished original crankshaft, and a high-volume oil pump. The fuel pump, lines, tank, and sending unit were replaced, per the seller. Spark is provided by a new distributor, Pertronix electronic ignition, and Taylor wires. Better-breathing manifolds and dual exhaust with Flowmaster 40-series mufflers and stainless-steel tips evacuate the byproducts of combustion. The compression ratio is 10:1, and the seller states that he feeds the V-8 premium unleaded fuel. Cooling is enhanced with a new high-flow water pump and a Champion aluminum radiator and 16-inch electric fan. An aftermarket billet-aluminum accessory drive was installed, as were a new power steering pump and alternator. a “performance kit” was added to the C4 three-speed automatic and a new 2,800-rpm-stall torque converter was mounted ahead it. A limited-slip unit and 3.25:1 gears were fitted in the rear axle. He reports that the electric choke holds the “revs at 2,500 rpm” when the engine is cold, which “reduces to 1,000 rpm when warm,” and the V-8 does not smoke or leak. “Paint quality is great,” the seller states. It was done eight years ago in Black Rainbow PCC3 Sherwin Williams three-stage, and there are no swirls, just minor scratches he reports. “It simply needs a good polish.” The windshield is new, and the rest of the glass is in “perfect” condition, per the seller, who adds there are no leaks at the seals. New American Autowire harnesses were installed bumper-to-bumper, as were new electronic sequence relays for the rear turn signals, he says. The hide-away headlamp doors’ stock vacuum actuation was updated to electric operation, and they “work perfectly.” About seven years ago, new foam and stock-pattern seat covers were installed, the seller says, as was a new carpet. The original headliner is in “mint” condition, the interior lighting works, and all the trim is present and “pristine.” A Shelby Mustang-style speedometer and tach augment the rest of the gauges, and all of them reportedly work. An aftermarket stereo system features AM/FM, Bluetooth and USB, a 1,600-watt four-channel amp, a 10-inch subwoofer in the trunk, 5-inch speakers in the kick panels, and 6x9-inch speakers in the rear. A wood grip steering wheel was added, the dashboard and console have been covered with carbon-fiber material, and the original heater parts are not installed, but are included in the sale. the suspension, steering, and braking systems were “completely rebuilt” around 2005-2006. New front coil springs, rear leaf springs, KYB shocks, urethane bushings, wheel bearings, a larger front anti-roll bar, and a rebuilt steering box were installed. The brake parts include the lines; front rotors, calibers, and pads; rear drums and shoes; the booster; and the master cylinder. A set of Foose Legend 17x8 wheels and Falken tires, sized 255/45ZR17, were mounted, and the latter have about 60 percent of their tread remaining.
