Muscled down the road by Buick’s potent Wildcat engine, this luxurious and well-appointed 1963 Buick Riviera is described features power windows, power steering, power brakes and power-adjustable front seats. this car, one of 40,000 built during the personal luxury coupe’s inaugural production year, is original, including its optional white leather interior. This Riviera features the model’s standard 401-cu.in. “Wildcat 445” V-8. Buick advertised their engines based on torque and the Riviera, as the range-topping model had a fairly potent engine as its primary offering. With 10.25:1 compression, a four-barrel carburetor and standard dual exhaust, the Wildcat 445 was rated at 325 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. The engine, and the Dynaflow two-speed automatic transmission, are believed to be original to the car. The engine is described as quiet, with copious power, and the seller reports that the automatic transmission functions properly on the road. The engine bay appears as stock and generally clean. this Riviera to have been repainted once, at an undetermined date. No dents to the sheetmetal can be observed, and the car shows no outward signs of corrosion or other paint imperfections. The chrome, including Buick wire wheel covers, appears to be complete and free of obvious damage. The grille and bumper chrome look to be in very good, undamaged condition. The windshield shows no cracks or pitting. The underside is generally clean, with scattered surface corrosion on a few components, including the exhaust system. The leather seat facings on this Riviera appear to be in very good condition, with no indications of rips, soiling or stains. The carpeting looks to be in good condition, with no visible holes or other indications of wear. This Riviera is optioned with factory air conditioning. The padded dashboard appears to be in good shape, with no cracks or missing trim. The Buick’s factory instrumentation includes an analog clock and the original Sonomatic AM radio. The glove compartment appears to be generally clean. The carpeted trunk has a floor mat and covered spare tire, and presents as strongly clean. no functional issues with either the power steering or the power drum brakes. The factory 15-inch wheels mount American Classic 215/75R15 medium-width whitewalls.
