This Riviera features the model’s standard 401-cu.in. “Wildcat 445” V-8. Buick advertised their engines based on torque and the Riviera, as the range-topping model had a fairly potent engine as its primary offering. With 10.25:1 compression, a four-barrel carburetor and standard dual exhaust, the Wildcat 445 was rated at 325 horsepower and 445 lb-ft of torque. The engine, and the Dynaflow two-speed automatic transmission, are believed to be original to the car.
