1962 Buick Special Deluxe Convertible reports that it was repainted Cadet Blue, and is in “great” running and driving condition. It features many desirable options, including the V-8 and power windows, top, brakes, and steering. The absence of the "A" code in the first digit of the VIN shows that this 1962 Buick Special was a V-8 car from the beginning. The engine starts easily with two pumps of the accelerator to set the choke.” Photos of the engine bay show that the Buick has an Edelbrock four-barrel carburetor, along with an Edelbrock Performer aluminum intake, but no other modifications are obvious. The transmission is a two-speed automatic, which “operates well” in both forward gears and reverse. this Buick Special Deluxe was repainted in basecoat/clearcoat, in the original shade of Cadet Blue at some point during the car’s history. He describes it as “not perfect, but makes a great impression.” He points out that it has “some finish cracks” near the trunk lid and on the rear quarters, and that there is “one small dent” in the passenger’s door. He also calls out paint chips above the emblem on the driver’s door. The Buick Special has a white power-operated convertible top. The seals have been replaced recently, and are “soft and pliable,” but he adds that pressurized water can make it past the seals. All of the emblems and exterior trim appear to be in good condition, and the bumpers show no signs of damage or pitting, although the seller reports some wear to the finish and there is a slight bend in the lower part of the rear bumper on the right side. The exterior lighting is all functional. The blue-and-white vinyl upholstery appears to be in excellent condition, with no signs of damage, excessive wrinkling, or collapse visible in the photos. The bold-colored upholstery carries over to the door panels, which also appear to be in excellent overall condition. The carpet appears slightly faded, but it also appears to be the original loop pile carpet in the original color and there are no visible tears or excessive wear.
