This Jeep is powered by the Kaiser Continental 226-cu.in. L-head straight-six, known at Jeep as the “Super Hurricane.” The carbureted engine, with a compression ratio of 7.3:1, was rated by the manufacturer at 115 horsepower when new. The engine in this Jeep is believed to be original, start readily. The three-speed manual transmission and two-speed transfer case are in proper working order. Slight weeps from the front axle and rear main seal are noted. The engine is said to have been re-wired as part of its conversion to 12 volts. The engine bay appears to be stock, except for a hot rod-style air cleaner, and to be strongly clean. The three-tone paint on this vehicle is said to date to 2019, the finish as “clean” overall, and in good condition. As to rust, the floorpans have been repaired, and notes that the body seals and weatherstripping were replaced during the refurbishment. The glass is “entirely new and undamaged.” All of the lighting is termed operable. The underside, which shows what as a replacement fuel tank, presents as being generally clean. the seat and interior facings, seat foam, carpeting, and headliner were all replaced during the refurbishment. The materials present as being in excellent, undamaged condition, per the photos. The headliner’s dome lamp is reported to be functional. The original wood at the rear has been sanded and re-stained. The interior door handles are said to have been replaced by new components. the Jeep’s single combined instrument is new and functional, adding that the original Philco radio is present in the painted steel dashboard. The heater is functional. The floor of the cargo area, including wooden supports slats, presents as being generally clean. the steering box has been rebuilt and reports no issues with its operation. The hydraulic drum brakes are reported to have new linings and wheel cylinders, along with a replacement master cylinder, and notes a recent functionality inspection.
