A first-year 1955 Ford Thunderbird remains one of the most collectable '50s cars, featured in the iconic American Graffiti movie showing the lovely removeable hard top, side port-hole windows and the sleek luxury style that still provokes strong nostalgia making people smile today as they did fifty years ago. Beautiful jet Black Thunderbird with a V8 engine, great color combo of black exterior and black/white interior, and has become very desirable because of the originality as well as has gone through a frame on restoration. Under the hood is the Thunderbird Special 292 cubic inch V8 engine. It has the correct painted factory red engine block and intake, Thunderbird's special valve covers, all other factory engine components, pie dish air topper with correct diaphragm surrounding half of it, four-barrel carburetor, dual exhaust, and special Vintage Air Conditioning. The main reason the Thunderbird sold more cars than the Corvette can be found inside. The Corvette remained a true sports car but the Thunderbird was luxurious with a wide variety of power options such as the two-tone Black/White rare option Power Seat, bright machine-interior trim that stretches across the dash and door panels, clock and tachometer, large factory black steering wheel, Vintage Air Conditioning, black carpet, and it all looks as it did coming right out of the showroom back in 955. There are no other 1955 Thunderbirds that are more desirable than this first-ever black on black/white T-Bird with the black convertible top. The chrome really sets the Thunderbird apart as does the wraparound front and rear bumper, wide mesh grille, subtle hood scoop, and the twin tailpipes integrated through the rear bumper guards. The chrome wire wheels and spinner hubcaps look period correct as do the wide whitewall tires. The black wheel well fender flares give it the final correct look also!
