This restored 1951 Jeep pickup is powered by a 134-cu.in. inline four-cylinder engine that was rebuilt during the vehicle’s restoration. the engine has a "maximum of 3,000 miles on it" since being rebuilt. She doesn’t note any cold start problems, but has observed “a little smoke,” but no leaks. The carburetor was rebuilt, as well. A custom stainless-steel exhaust system was added. An Optima performance battery is mounted on the firewall of what appears to be a nicely detailed engine compartment. The T-90 three-speed manual transmission has overdrive to make highway driving easier. Green is apparently the theme of this Jeep both outside and in. The body-off restoration took 14 months and involved a complete disassembly of the truck and refinishing of the body and frame. TLT Restoration and Race Tek in Water Mill, New York, performed the restoration work. The new color is Olive Green. The floorpans were replaced and are now covered with a rubberized flooring material. The glass was replaced during the restoration. All the brightwork on the truck was refinished including the bumpers, grille, headlight rings, and mirrors.
