Designed by the famous GM Designer, Harley Earl this 1948 Buick Super 8 Convertible is in excellent condition. This example was a late 1990’s restoration of a Florida car. The current owner has performed a complete, professional engine rebuild along with a new clutch, radiator, new hydraulic pump and distribution valves and new mechanical fuel pump (eliminates vapor lock related to ethanol blended fuels). The 248 ci, “Fireball” straight eight cylinder engine develops 110 horsepower and is mated to a three speed manual transmission. The convertible top, front seat and windows are all hydraulically driven and work as designed. Radio is inoperable. Mileage of 78,000 thought to be accurate. Royal Maroon finish is very nice coupled with tan and brown leather interior. Drives, handles and stops very well. Ready to be enjoyed by the next collector.
