He reports that it was repainted in 2010, and garaged ever since, when not in use. Its original powertrain is said to have been upgraded to 12-volt operation. The AK was powered in 1946 by Chevrolet’s 216.5-cu.in. OHV straight-six. With a compression ratio of 6.5:1 and a Carter downdraft carburetor, the engine was rated by the manufacturer at 90 horsepower when new. The engine in this AK is said to be original to the truck and to have never been rebuilt. It’s said to start without smoke when the manual choke is engaged. The three-speed manual transmission is reported to shift properly, no powertrain leaks. The engine bay appears to show grime and light surface corrosion, per the photos. the AK was repainted in 2010 and garaged continuously ever since, when not in use, and he describes the finish in overall good condition, with no reported swirls or blemishes. He states that the body seals are effective at stopping leaks, and the vehicle is free of rust and evidence of past rust repairs. The AK is fitted with a motorized siren above its windshield and a floodlight is mounted above the rear doors. The truck’s chrome trim appears to be complete and in good unrestored condition, per the photos. The original glass is reported to be in serviceable condition, with all lighting said to be functional. The underside appears to be generally clean, with scattered overspray and surface corrosion visible in the photos. The vinyl seat facings have visible splits on the bottom cushions and the bare metal floorboards appear to be solid and free of rust. The interior roof is framed with wood and appears to be in good condition. The steel dashboard is said to have full trim and presents as being in good unrestored condition. The speedometer and odometer are reported to be inoperative. The heater is said to work. The cargo area appears to be acceptably clean, with an apparently solid wooden floor. The seller says the chassis was lubricated six month ago. The manual steering is said to operate properly and the manual drum brakes are reported to be in good operating order, with a new master cylinder.
