2017 Chevrolet Corvette Grand Sport
Chevrolet unveiled a new version of the C7 Corvette in 2017, a callback to American racing heritage: the Corvette Grand Sport. The C7 Grand Sport fell between the basic Stingray and the Z06, providing a remarkable upgrade to track performance without creeping into the 6-figure price point. The Grand Sport shares the same suspension and chassis with the Z06, including wider rear haunches, massive carbon-ceramic brake calipers, and magnetorheological dampers thanks to the optional Z07 package. Ultra-sticky Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires wrap around the upgraded 3LT chrome wheels providing 1.20 G’s of lateral grip. The famous 6.2L LT1 sits under-hood, producing 460 horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque, and sends power to the rear wheels through an 8-speed manually selectable automatic gearbox. While designed for the track, the C7 Grand Sport maintains its drivability on public roads thanks to selectable suspension settings and comfortable interior amenities.
