1967 FORD MUSTANG
This is a true 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback that was born as a 6 cylinder fast-back. The builder/restorer is an 84yr old gentleman who is a nationally recognized Mustang Judge and a restorer of 1967-only Mustangs to Concours standard. He’s the kind of guy who has literally forgotten more about Mustangs than most people will ever know. This man has made a lifetime of loving, judging, and restoring ’67-era rare Mustangs decided to gift his 17-year old grandson with a 1967 Ford Mustang “E”-type Movie Car Replica — one heck of a gift for a 17-year old! As you might expect this car was built from the ground up to a show quality standard, nothing but the best intended for his grandson. He told the seller that while the family absolutely loves the car, it’s too expensive and powerful to be in the hands of an inexperienced driver, and for that reason, they’ve decided it best to sell the car, get him something more practical, and put a few $$’s away for school, etc. Today the seller saw the car, it’s equally as nice as any of the Concours restored examples he’s already sold. Consistent with the iconic movie Gone in 60 Seconds, this car was purpose-built to rival that movie-car and upgraded in a few areas to enhance its value. The car was born a 1967 Fastback 6-cylinder Mustang. This was specifically sought out thinking that a V6 would be less likely to be abused by its prior owners, and as a purist, the builder didn’t want to take an otherwise collectible true V8 car out of the collector pipeline, etc. The car was a literal ground-up build to assure it was like new in all respects. The car has been painted the movie-correct Anthracite Metallic Grey—a color that was not offered in 1967 but appeared in the movie and seemingly drove the fans wild for its styling. The 6 cylinder engine was replaced with a 390GT V8 engine and a 5-speed manual transmission (the movie car was only a 4-speed car). There are less than 300 miles on this since it’s fresh restoration !
